Brian D. Ulf serves as the Chief Executive Officer of SHARE! The Self-Help And Recovery Exchange, bringing decades of leadership, advocacy, and deep community ties to the organization. A lifelong Angeleno, person in long-term recovery, and former SHARE! Board President, Brian has been a steadfast champion of innovative homeless housing solutions, particularly for individuals facing the compounding challenges of addiction and mental illness. With over 40 years as a principal shareholder and top-producing broker in commercial real estate, he leverages his strategic expertise and extensive network to expand SHARE!’s impact. Brian’s leadership is driven by an unwavering passion for service, a deep care for others, and a relentless commitment to expanding SHARE!’s ability to provide housing, peer services, and recovery support, along with a focus on donor development to sustain and grow the organization.

 

Brian’s connection to SHARE! runs deep, having been involved in various capacities, from serving on the board of directors to conducting outreach in homeless encampments. In recovery from addiction since 2002, he understands firsthand the transformative power of self-help support groups and social connection. His personal journey fuels his commitment to creating pathways for others to heal, rebuild, and thrive. Under his leadership, SHARE! is transforming lives by providing immediate, effective, peer-based solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, addiction, justice involvement, and trauma, ensuring that no one has to navigate the journey of recovery alone.

 

Brian’s community and philanthropic efforts extend to various other organizations, including the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles Board, the LAPD Community Police Advisory Board, the Western Regional Alliance of Councils, the Venice Neighborhood Council Homeless Committee, the Venice Chamber of Commerce, the Westside Coalition, Casa de Amigas' women's recovery center in Pasadena, the Promises Recovery Alumni Advisory Board, and the Board of the Weingart Center Association on Skid Row.
