Maria Gonzalez was promoted to Director of Peer Services at SHARE! in November 2024. In this role, she oversees and enhances the organization’s peer support programs, developing strategies to empower individuals and communities, foster peer leadership, and promote recovery. She works closely with other departments to ensure all programs align with SHARE!’s mission and values, with a strong focus on improving service delivery, maintaining program compliance, and measuring outcomes to maximize the impact of peer support.
Maria also provides hands-on training and guidance to Peer Bridgers in the field, and Peer Specialists in SHARE! Centers, utilizing SHARE!’s best practices—particularly through the SHARE!’s Advanced Peer Specialist Training—to ensure high-quality support for those in need.
Before her promotion, Maria served as Program Director for Housing at SHARE!, where she led all aspects of SHARE! Collaborative Housing. She managed housing acquisition, placement, supportive services, and contract administration for over 20 city, county, foundation, and corporate contracts. Under her leadership, SHARE! Collaborative Housing became a key resource in Los Angeles’ fight to end homelessness.
Maria has trained and supervised hundreds of Peer Bridgers and Program Coordinators, ensuring best practices were followed in housing acquisition, placement, and supportive services. Her dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact on the community, advancing SHARE!’s mission of providing stable housing and essential support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
