SHARE! Responds to housing needs in Venice
In response to the recent news about the homeless encampment clean up at Venice Beach, SHARE!’s Collaborative Housing program has partnered with Los Angeles to offer people in Venice immediate housing and support.
Amidst an immense challenge, SHARE! offers a solution rather than a shelter – we offer homes. Our innovative housing program places individuals into housing within 24 hours. This rapid response is essential in helping Los Angeles alleviate the immediate suffering of homelessness, offering not only a roof over one’s head but also a long-term solution in an environment of support, growth, and communal responsibility.
In Venice last week, SHARE! connected with over a dozen people to take them to SHARE! Collaborative Housing. As one future resident said, “You know David and Rebekah, no one has helped us like you. No one has gone this far out of their way to drive us 45 minutes to see housing, and also to stop with us for lunch and coffee, and share stories along the way. Thank you both so much for caring about us and treating us with dignity!”
SHARE! continues to reach out to those individuals and their loved ones who are affected by this sweep, offering an immediate and sustainable solution. We believe that everyone deserves a chance for a stable, comfortable home.
